Short bio:
Born into the Lavellan clan, Bramen isn't quite a traditional Dalish elf. Though his people's lore and history is his primary focus, he is curious about humans. During his life within his clan, there had been few altercations with humans but for the most part, so long as his clan never overstayed their welcome, most human villages simply ignored the nomads. Human culture is very much a mystery to him but he's quick to learn and pick up most social cues.
Bramen's role within his clan was primarily a hunter but he'd been selected to become the next halla keeper, training under the present elder. He'd always been good with the halla and even had a steady enough hand to tame the much larger, more headstrong harts. As a Dalish elf, he was expected to know a great deal in order to aid his clan - he can hunt, trap and fish, he can carve his own tools and weapons in a pinch. He's a survivalist above all else, holding true to the values of his clan. Never wanting more than he needed, never craving anything but the bare necessities. Helping others and helping his clan has always been his highest priority.
The Keeper of his clan selected him to attend the conclave, knowing Bramen wouldn't shy from responsibility. Though it meant leaving his clan behind for a while, he was proud to step up. Saying goodbye to the only family he'd known, he took a halla and set out.
Personality:
Personality-wise, Bramen is a little bit sassy and a lot diplomatic. He's content to crack a joke here and there but he also recognises how important it is to listen to others and validate their concerns. He's a willing ear to listen to his friends' troubles and does what he can to help them when he can. He's quite determined when it comes to his companions, no doubt from his Dalish upbringing. People help one and other - that's how it goes. In his clan, everyone cared for everyone else, take care of one's own, they will take care of you.
He feels strongly for mages and elves, advocating freedom. Politics are not his strong suit. Even though he took mild offence to Dennet calling him a Halla Rider, he is one through and through. His favourite mounts are the harts.
As Inquisitor, he remains as diplomatic as possible with his decisions and as a result, tends to have a pretty positive relationship with most of his inner circle.
Family:
He doesn't mention it to just anyone but he has a (fraternal) twin brother back in his clan. His twin is a mage, serving as First to the Keeper. Being the more responsible of the pair, Bramen was selected to attend the Conclave while his brother, Meallan, remained with the clan. One of Bramen's crafted daggers is named after his brother, infused with a lightning rune.
He's also not shem-blooded, don't let the vague stubble fool you. (spoilers: he's probably shem-blooded)
